Foothill College | 8am to 4pm
Bullis Charter will be hosting the exciting Junior Olympics event with eight other local charter schools on Sunday, May 22nd, 2016 at the Foothill College Track in Los Altos Hills, CA. Nine years ago, BCS initiated this bi-annual event as a way for over 800 K-8 charter school students and families to celebrate education and community.
Seeking to echo the traditions of the International Olympic Games, students from each participating school will play a role in an opening ceremony. The ceremony will include a performance of the National Anthem, the entrance of the students to the field with a banner representing each school, the torch passing between the schools, and the choreographed rhythmic gymnastics routine.
The program will feature track and field events such as relay running, track, broad jump, shot put and javelin. Lower grade events include the egg and spoon race, beanbag toss, soccer kick and basketball shootout. Within the spirit of fellowship, event participants will exchange their school colored bracelets with one another.
This celebratory event is an opportunity for students, parents, and teachers in the charter school community to connect in friendship. We also need your help at the Junior Olympics!
Mark your calendars and join us as we cheer and celebrate together as one community on Sunday, May 22nd. We look forward to seeing you there!
